I’m the mother of four humans and two pups, but I’ve also tossed pizzas for a pizzeria, acted and sang in a musical, advocated for families with special needs, made appearances in a few movies, and mimed with balloon animals at the Halifax Busker Festival. I’m also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner, international speaker, Story Coach & publishing consultant, and the best-selling author of books for adults and for children.

I do my best writing on retreats with a nearby hot tub, in any castle, or within view of the sea. I love the smiles and giggles of kids who see themselves in my pages and the tearful nods of adults who realize they’re not alone by my words. Trauma Recovery and the Brain

I talk regularly about the wiring of the brain, how it interacts with traumatic experiences, and how to begin healing from those experiences. I also talk about various forms of abuse, healing, post-traumatic growth, and recovery.

As a former foster mom, adoptive mom, birth mom, pseudo mom, and professional in social services, I have a lot to say on this topic! 

Storytelling & Publishing

I help people infuse powerful story into their message for the stage, books, or business. I love to talk about stewardship of story, the neurological impact of quality story, and how to get our stories into the world. I cover topics such as writer’s block, logistics of writing and publishing (traditionally and independently), memoir, inspirational, and children’s books.

Women’s Inspiration

Anything that relates to spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health: self-care, life transitions, creating community, mindful living, living internationally, mindset.

Speaking Fee: My speaking fee is $2000 + travel and accommodations.
