Don’t Walk This Life Alone

As an experienced trauma-informed therapist, Marcy offers individual and group therapy, as well as parent coaching for foster/adoption families needing additional support.

Individual Therapy

We often find ourselves members of “clubs” we never signed up for. Unexpected “club” memberships might include living with anxiety, complex PTSD/PTSD, divorce, single parenting, the challenges of fostering or adopting, loss of a loved one, on and on. I provide personalized one-on-one therapy to help you navigate these “club memberships” so you can thrive instead of survive.

This is designated for individuals to process and explore their thoughts and feelings. Most clients schedule sessions weekly or bi-weekly.

Currently only offering Teletherapy.

Foster & Adoption Parent Coaching

As a former foster mom, adoptive mom, and long time fost-adopt family advocate, I now work with parents needing a safe place to process all of the unexpected nuances of fostering and adopting, including the range of emotion, questions, doubt, fear, and desperate need for actual help in their home and hearts. I offer this as coaching versus counseling because we will focus on present obstacles and hopes in order to move you toward desired results, which you will determine with my facilitation.

Parent Coaching includes an initial virtual workshop followed by weekly or bi-weekly virtual meetings.

Group Therapy

Community is one of the best forms of trauma recovery. Engaging places of safety and belonging begin to rewire injured neurological pathways, resulting in improved personal wellbeing. That’s why I offer a group therapy option: to facilitate this powerful brain work in community so you can heal and grow.

Group therapy includes an initial workshop or training followed by weekly group sessions. Group sessions consist of 90-minute group meetings, once per week for 3 – 6 months.

Meetings are held virtually.

My Approach

My clients are tired of being tired, ready to move from paralysis to growth, and desperate for hope and healing. They want to believe they are worthy of love, hold intrinsic value, and have something positive to bring to the world. They want positive life change and healthy relationships with self and others.

As both a seasoned therapist AND a person who’s walked multiple personal life traumatic events, I am uniquely equipped to come alongside with “I get it” understanding and the professional training to help you move toward health, growth, and freedom from ineffective ways of living. I specialize in trauma recovery and quality of life improvements.

If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy with little improvement, then I might be your best fit therapist. Traditional talk therapy has kept people in therapy for too long because it addresses the wrong part of the brain. In our work together, I focus on the whole brain and each part’s specific role. Using various somatic exercises (play, art, movement, and imagination) as well as my favorite elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (the impact of perception, beliefs, and behavior), I uniquely guide your therapeutic journey beyond talking and into healing.

“Trying to change how we actually feel by ordering ourselves to do so is a strategy that goes nowhere, fast.”

“Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.”

“Even though you cannot change the events of your story, you can change the way you experience your story."
